Quality Control at Every Stage
At Hair By Russians, quality is not a final check – it is built into every step of the production process. Since 2011, we have maintained the same strict standards for every batch of South Russian Slavic hair that leaves our factory.
Stage 1: Origin Verification
All hair comes from verified donors in south Russia and neighboring Slavic regions. We work with established sourcing networks built over 15 years. Before any hair enters our facility, we verify it is:
- From South Russian or Slavic origin
- Naturally grown – no chemical treatments on the donor
- Full cuticle intact
- Free of silicon or synthetic coating
Stage 2: Cuticle Alignment Check
True Remy hair means all cuticles run in the same direction – root to tip. This is what prevents tangling. Every bundle that enters our facility is checked for cuticle alignment. Any hair where cuticles run in mixed directions is rejected or returned.
This step is non-negotiable. It is what separates genuine Remy South Russian hair from the lower-grade “Remy-labeled” hair that floods the market.
Stage 3: Color Sorting and Grading
Hair is sorted by natural color shade and texture before any processing. Our standard palette covers 22 colors from natural blacks through warm blondes and balayage blends. Sorted hair is grouped in consistent batches for processing.
Stage 4: Silicone-Free Processing
Many hair extension manufacturers coat their product in silicone to make it appear smooth and shiny. This coating washes out within weeks, leaving the hair looking dry and rough.
Hair By Russians does not use silicone. Our hair is processed with minimal treatment, preserving the natural properties of South Russian hair. What you see on day one is what you get at month eight.
Stage 5: Final Batch Inspection
Before packaging, every batch goes through a final inspection:
- Strand count and weight verified
- Color consistency checked against the standard reference
- Length measured and confirmed
- Random strand pull-test to check weft integrity
Only batches that pass every inspection point are packaged and shipped.
