For beaded weft methods – including hand-tied and genius weft – the most common installation error is cutting the weft incorrectly. Machine wefts need to be sealed before cutting. If you cut through the weft without sealing first, the thread starts to unravel from the cut edge within days, and the hair along that edge releases. Genius wefts are more forgiving but should still be trimmed cleanly with no fraying.

Bring the client in for a dry look under salon lighting before drawing any conclusions. Wet hair hides shedding; dry hair reveals it. Check the weft tracks, the beads, and the attachment points. Photograph what you find. The photos protect you, clarify the pattern, and give you something specific to send to a supplier if a replacement is warranted.
Most shedding complaints resolve with a single appointment. Very few are unfixable, and almost none require removing the entire set. The ability to walk a client through a clear diagnosis, explain what happened, and correct it is worth more to client retention than any single product choice.
